Hannstar Display Corporation posted a net loss in the second quarter of NT$852 million ($26.6 million) on turnover of NT$4.1 billion ($128 million), which compares with a net profit in Q2 of last year of NT$705 million ($22 million) on turnover of NT$6.1 billion ($190 million). Q2’s result brings Hannstar’s net loss in the first half of the year to NT$147 million ($4.6 billion) and turnover to NT$9.4 billion ($292.9 million). Hannstar’s total panel shipments in Q2 fell 8.8% sequentially to 3.7 million units. Small and medium sized panel shipments reached 74.9 million units, while shipments of large panels and HannsG products reached 40,000 and 80,000 respectively.
