Taiwan’s major chip companies reported strong sales in July, with Mediatek achieving monthly revenue which was the highest in four months.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSMC) saw sales rise 35% sequentially and 24.7% year on year to NT$80.9 billion ($2.5 billion), bringing sales for the year so far to NT$508.4 billion ($15.8 billion), 28.3% higher than the same period of 2014.
United Microelectronics (UMC) reported a 10.1% YoY increase in sales to NT$12.7 billion ($394.2 million), while for the first seven months of the year, sales climbed 11.7% to NT$88.4 billion ($2.7 billion).
Mediatek‘s monthly sales were the highest in four months, though at NT$17.9 billion ($555.6 million), this was 7.1% down YoY. The company’s cumulative sales for 2015 were down 5.8% at NT$112.5 billion ($3.5 billion).
