Global Semiconductor Sales Increase in February 2015, says SIA

Both the Semiconductor Industry Association and Gartner have released their most recent semiconductor sales estimates – for February 2015 from the SIA, and the year 2014 from Gartner.

Worldwide semiconductor sales reached $27.8 billion in February, up 6.7% YoY from February 2014’s $26 billion. Sales were down 2.7% MoM ($28.5 billion in January), although this reflects seasonal trends.

February was the 22nd consecutive month of YoY growth for the industry, said SIA president and CEO John Neuffer. DRAM and analogue products increased in the double-digits. The Americas region achieved its highest sales growth in 12 months (17.1%) and led all regional markets. APAC also saw an increase (7.6%), but sales fell in Europe (2%) and Japan (8.8%).
