Germany has denied plans to ban the export of chemicals used in semiconductor manufacturing to China, following a Bloomberg report suggesting the possibility of such a move. A spokesperson from Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s office clarified that there are no current plans for an export ban. The Bloomberg report had indicated that the move was in early discussions, and Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning responded by stating that imposing export controls on China in the name of reducing dependence is not constructive.
