IT device spending in the Middle East and North Africa region is projected to reach $27.4 billion in 2018, a 1.6% increase from $26.96 billion in 2017, according to the latest forecast by Gartner.
The communications services segment—the largest spending segment in MENA—is growing as a result of increasing demand for data to service premium mobile phones. Communications services are expanding coverage and data transfer rates are increasing, while keeping prices low. The rising demand for premium mobile phones by consumers is also set to fuel growth in the devices spending segment in 2018.
