Gartner estimates that Indian IT spending on devices will reach $27.8 billion in 2017, a growth of 23.2% year-on-year. It is also expected to grow another 13% in 2018, up to $31.4 billion.
The devices segment continues to drive the majority of overall IT spending in India. Increased average selling prices for premium phones in mature markets, partially due to the introduction of the iPhone 8 and X, along with an underlying demand for PCs from businesses replacing their machines with Windows 10 PCs is driving the growth in this segment.
