Galaxy G8 Eye Security Compromised

Samsung’s Galaxy S8 smartphone includes iris recognition as an option to unlock the phone. The company originally said that this provided “airtight” security, but the Chaos Computer Club managed to unlock a phone using a photograph of the owner’s eye which had been covered with a contact lens. Samsung said that it is aware of the issue and recommended that users choose their fingerprint and a secret number instead.
