French Library Uses Digital Projection

The Alexis de Toqueville library in Caen was opened earlier this year. Shaped like a St. Andrew’s cross, it has an area of 11,700m², 5,800m² of which is open to the public. Caen-based Auvisys handled the AV integration. At the heart of the library, the company used two ceiling-mounted 3-chip DLP Highlite projectors from Digital Projection to provide a panoramic image on a semi-cylindrical video fresco. This was a particularly challenging project due to the size (22m x 5m) and the high level of ambient light. A further Highlite projector was used in the auditorium.
