Fraunhofer Stacks OLEDs for Colour Tunability

Fraunhofer COMEDD has developed colour-tunable OLED lighting panels, and showed them off at the recent LOPEC event in Munich, Germany.

The organisation uses a stacked approach, with blue and yellow emitters on top of each other. This means that the panels can be both colour-tunable and transparent. However, it does limit the size of the units – currently the panels have about an 80mm diameter.
