A coating technology for deposition of laterally-graded optical layers on 2D — and in the future, also on 3D — substrates has been developed at Fraunhofer Institute’s Precision Coating business unit in Dresden, Germany. The results will be presented at the second OptecNet Annual Conference in Berlin, Germany, which takes place on June 20th and 21st.
Applications using complex shaped surfaces enable the viewer to see content or objects from different perspectives, or to achieve a desired optical effect with varying incident angles of light and require highly complex optical layer systems.
