Foxconn to Invest $5 Billion in India

Foxconn has signed an agreement with India’s Maharashtra state for a five year, $5 billion investment in a new electronic manufacturing facility. Company founder, Terry Gou, said earlier this week that he was considering establishing manufacturing units in various states in India, as well as forging partnerships in India’s fast-growing smartphone market. In May, the company was also quoted as saying that it would build 10 to 12 facilities in India by 2020.
