Hon Hai Precision Industry ended the year with record sales for the second consecutive month and achieved new quarterly and annual highs.
In December the company’s sales reached NT$515.5 billion ($16.2 billion), slightly ahead of November and 5% higher than December 2013, while fourth quarter sales recorded growth of 57.7% sequentially and 12.7% year on year at NT$1.5 trillion ($47.1 billion). For the year, Hon Hai’s sales totaled NT$4.2 trillion ($131.9 billion), 6.5% ahead of 2013.
Hon Hai’s core EMS business contributed around 50% to total revenue last year and analysts believe it will continue to drive revenue growth both this year and next. The company is reported to have secured between 70-80% of orders for Apple iPhones and iPads.
