The FlexTech Alliance has given out five Flexi Awards, in the categories of Innovation; R&D; Leadership in Education; and, a new category, Industry Leadership. It is the ninth year of Flexi Awards. The Innovation Award went to two companies: one in manufacturing (Sensor Films Inc., for its Starlight Digital Manufacturing Platform) and one in consumer products (Blue Spark Technologies, for the TempTraq products). Scientists at the University of Massachusetts Lowell received the R&D award; the National Science Foundation Centre for High Rate Nanomanufacturing took the Leadership in Education award; and the Industry Leadership award was presented to Daniel Gamota, of Jabil, for his dedication to building awareness of the capabilities and innovations that advanced flexible, hybrid and printed electronics bring to the broader field of electronics.
