Apple has extended the warranty of its early Series 1 Apple Watch models to three years from the original date of purchase.
The extension is apparently in direct response to a problem with the adhesive used to affix the charging port on to the body of the smartwatch. Many early adopters of the Apple Watch have reported that their charging discs have detached completely after a period of use.
Luckily for them, Apple has acknowledged the defect and any users experiencing this issue will be eligible for a free repair within the first three years.
Anyone who has already paid for a repair has been advised to contact Apple Support.
