New Epson Projectors Have Short Throw

Epson has released four new 3LCD projectors for small- to medium-size spaces. Designed to last longer than previous generations, the 200W lamps on the EB-520, EB-525W and 215W lamps on the EB-530 and EB-535W will last up to 10,000 hours in eco mode.

AV mute enables the image to be dimmed, drawing focus to the presenter. To support easy set-up, each unit has horizontal and vertical keystone correction (+/-15°), as well as a short throw ratio (EB-520 and EB-530: 0.55:1. EB525W and EB-535W: 0.48:1).

The projectors will show 10-bit colour and have a manual zoom (1.35x) and focus. They feature HDMI, VGA (x2), component (x2), composite, S-Video, USB-A, USB-B, RJ45 and RS232 ports. Each measures 344 x 315 x 94mm.

The EB-520 and EB-530 have 1024 x 768 resolution and can throw a 50″ – 108″ image from 0.5m – 1.3m. They have 2,700 and 3,200 lumens of brightness, respectively, and weigh 3.7kg. The EB-525W and EB-535W have 1280 x 800 resolution, can throw a 53″ – 116″ image from 0.5m – 1.2m and have 2,800/3,400 lumens of brightness, respectively. They weigh 3.9kg.

The new projectors will be available from February. They will cost £625 ($950) (EB-520), £680 ($1,035) (EB-525W, EB530) and £735 ($1,120) (EB-353W) ex VAT.
