Epistar, the LED epitaxial wafer and chip maker, and Everlight Electronics, the LED packaging service provider, have reported revenues of $73.25 million and $78.36 million respectively for last month. This represents a rise for Epistar of 1.18% compared to April 2017, and a rise of 2.67% compared to May last year. The comparable figures for Everlight were rises of 5.15% and 2.44%.
Epistar’s year to date revenues were $335.3 million, which was a fall of 3.51% compared to the same period last year, while the year to date figures for Everlight were $374.92 million and a fall of 2.95%.
Epistar has fully utilised capacity for its blue-light LED chips and has received orders for LED chips for CSP (chip scale packaging) LCD TV backlighting. According to market analysts, Epistar will have revenues of $215 to $218 million for the second quarter of 2017, which will represent a rise of just under 10% compared to the first quarter of 2017.
Everlight exhibited five UV-A LEDs and two UV-C models at the 2017 Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition earlier this month. The company also showed monochrome LED lighting which can be used to encourage plant growth.
