Eight Inc Principal Predicts Retailers will Become More Hands-on

Professor Julian Lion Boxenbaum, principal of Eight Inc—the architectural design agency behind the original Apple Store—spoke about the growing trend of retailers introducing full-fledged experiences for customers rather than simply displaying their products at Global Shop in Chicago earlier this week, according to Retail Design World.

Boxenbaum used his agency’s own Apple stores as an example, as well as home appliance company “Pirch”, which encourages its customers to make themselves at home with its products, even going as far as to cook a full meal or take a bath, plus US menswear retailer Ministry of Supply, whose in-store 3D-printed knitting service launched in Boston last year.
