E Ink Holdings, “E Ink” (8069.TW), the leading innovator of electronic ink technology will display its latest innovations in consumer electronics, architecture, healthcare, retail and fashion at SID Display Week 2018 from May 22-24, 2018 in Los Angeles.

In addition to full color Advanced Color ePaper (ACeP) technology, E Ink will showcase its flexible and dynamic display solutions from connected devices and retail, to design and architecture.

Electronic paper displays from E Ink are well-recognized as being the technology behind eReaders, but E Ink’s ePaper displays are responsible for revolutionizing the architecture, healthcare and retail industries. The company’s industry-leading technology enables custom, dynamic images and patterns in traditionally static designs, electronic shelf labels that can respond to customer traffic patterns, and medical devices that empower better medical adherence.

In addition to the latest wearables, eReaders and eNotes, technologies to be showcased include:

  • Advanced Color ePaper (ACeP) – a high quality, full color reflective display. In the ACeP system, the ink can produce full color at every pixel, without the use of a color filter array (CFA). E Ink will be showcasing ACeP in both 32” and 13.3”, with 13.3”planned as the first size commercially available in late 2018 / early 2019.
  • Demonstration of Organic TFT (OTFT) backplane – E Ink and Flexterra have been collaborating on the development of OTFTs to enable mass production of truly flexible ePaper displays. E Ink will be showcasing this flexible ePaper display with the OTFT backplane in 6.8” for the first time, highlighting the durability of the OTFT during the demonstration.
  • Wireless ESL modules – collaborating with Toshiba on wireless energy harvesting technology. A pair of transmitter and receiver ICs by Toshiba were used in conjunction with the EPD device to harvest energy without the use of a battery. These 1.54” ESL tags can be tiled together up to 11” in length with improved electronics that save on PCB size and electronics required, and offer easy installation and image updates.
  • DAZZLE Installation – a demonstration of DAZZLE, the world’s largest ePaper media façade featuring 2,100 color-changing tiles of E Ink’s Prism technology.
  • LTS Smart Patch – a transdermal therapeutic system that delivers medication to patients in a convenient and controlled manner, featuring an E Ink display to deliver and convey relevant information.
