E Ink said that it expects to ship 40 million electronic shelf label (ESL) displays this year, taking its cumulative total from 60 million to 100 million according to E Ink CEO, Frank Ko, quoted in local sources at Touch Taiwan. Major retailers that have adopted the technology include Media Markt and Carrefour. At the show, the company also showed an eReader with a pen to allow note taking including the DPT-S1, a 13.3″ eReader with pen input from Sony and the Notepad from Netronix of Taiwan. Large displays were also on show and the company has put a video online of its display at the event.
