Dolby Vision Laser Projection Shines Bright in the Netherlands

Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE:DLB) and JT Bioscopen today announced that JT Hilversum will be JT Bioscopen’s second Dolby Cinema™ location in the Netherlands.

Dolby Cinema, featuring Dolby Vision™ and Dolby Atmos®, is a premium cinema offering for moviegoers that combines spectacular image and sound technologies with inspired design to make every visit a completely captivating cinematic event.

JT opened one of the world’s first Dolby Cinema locations last December at JT Eindhoven, which has recently been equipped with a Dolby Vision laser projection system. Now moviegoers will be able to get the complete Dolby Cinema experience with the release of Disney•Pixar’s Inside Out in the Netherlands on July 15.

“Dolby and JT are building on the great success we have seen from the JT Eindhoven Dolby Cinema location, which moviegoers have been choosing because of its highly differentiated and compelling cinema experience,” said Ron Sterk, Managing Director, JT Bioscopen. “JT Hilversum is one of the most modern cinemas in the Netherlands, and I cannot imagine a better place for JT patrons to go and enjoy this ultimate cinema experience.”

Dolby Cinema at JT Hilversum will also play host to the Netherlands premiere of Disney•Pixar’s Inside Out in Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision on July 15, the official public opening date of the Hilversum site.

“Dolby Cinema delivers an amazing, unforgettable experience making JT Hilversum the perfect location to host the Netherlands premiere of Inside Out,” said Doug Darrow, Senior Vice President, Cinema Business Group, Dolby Laboratories. “Audiences will be captivated by the unprecedented imagery and unparalleled sound that will transport them into the story in a unique and powerful way.”

Dolby Cinema features the Dolby Vision projection system, which uses state-of-the-art optics and image processing to deliver high dynamic range with enhanced color technology and a contrast ratio that far exceeds that of any other image technology on the market today. The result is a richer, more detailed viewing experience that delivers strikingly vivid and realistic images that make viewers feel like they are in the movie’s world. Dolby Cinema also includes the award-winning Dolby sound technology, Dolby Atmos, which moves audio around the theatre, even overhead, with amazing richness and depth.
