Deluxe Entertainment Services Group says that its MediaCloud platform has been used to broadcast live UltraHD video, at 50fps, between Europe and North America. The broadcast used the public internet and was delivered using Deluxe’s own (software-based) Broadcast Delivery Network. The broadcast signal (encoded with HEVC at 30 fps) leaves a Deluxe MediaCloud facility in Europe via diverse ISPs, using multi-pathing technology. Total data load is 106Mbps. It is then delivered via dual ISPs to the GDMX facilities, and then to Deluxe locations in North America.
The system will be shown at NAB this month, at stand SU4414.
