Daktronics and Screen Vision Light Up European Games

The world’s first European Games were held in Baku, Azerbaijan, last month. Massive LED display systems for the event were installed by Daktronics, and LED modules from Screen Vision were used for the closing ceremony. Daktronics supplied two LED boards measuring 10.97m x 19.75m, with a 15mm pixel pitch. They were installed at either end of the 68,000-seat Olympic Stadium. 691.65m² of 1.1m-high LED ribbon display was also supplied.

For its part, Screen Vision supplied 450m² of LED modules, for the stage floor. Viewing angles were important, and images could be viewed from 140°. The modules reached 3,000 cd/m² of brightness and survived temperatures of up to 85°.
