Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT) reported sales in the first three months of the year of NT$13.2 billion ($423.9 million), 11.6% down on the same period of 2014. In March, CPT’s sales reached NT$4.6 billion ($147.7 million), 19.9% higher than February but 19.6% down on March 2014. The company’s large panel shipments in March increased 8.8% sequentially to 124,000 units, though this was 19% lower YoY. Small and medium panel shipments improved 26.8% month on month to 37.5 million units, just 3.2% lower YoY.
The company said recently that having shipped more than 100 million in-vehicle displays in 2014, representing YoY growth of 37%, it would expand its offering of applications in this segment in 2015.
