CPT’s May Sales Dip 21% YoY

Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT) saw sales fall 10.3% sequentially and 21% year on year to NT$3.7 billion ($118.8 million), bringing sales so far this year to NT$21.1 billion ($677.8 million), 12.6% lower than the same period of last year. CPT’s large panel shipments were 37.3% lower month on month and 61.2% YoY at 69,000 units. May shipments of small and medium sized panels totaled 33.5 million units, down 5.9% from April 2015 and 16.1% lower than May 2014. The company’s large panel shipments in the first five months of the year reached 552,000, 24.4% behind the same time last year, while small and medium panel shipments were trailing 8.8% at 167.2 million.
