CPT’s August Result Disappoints

Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT) reported a 15.5% drop in sales last month from July, at NT$4.5 billion ($149.8 million), bringing sales from January to August to NT$37.8 billion ($1.2 billion), 1% lower than the corresponding period of 2013. CPT’s large panel shipments of 131,000 units represented a 13.8% sequential decline and was 26.4% lower than August 2013. Shipments of small and medium sized panels were 12.1% higher month on month at 38.45 million units, though this was 26.4% lower year on year. CPT’s large panel shipments for the year so far reached 1.2 million units, while the total number of small and medium sized panels shipped reached 297.8 million.
