Coretronic Shipped 26 Million BLUs Last Month

Coretronic’s revenue for last month slipped 5.2% from August to just over NT$7 billion ($230.2 million), though this was 9.1% higher than September last year. Sales for the third quarter grew 3% from Q2 and 15.2% from Q3 2013 to NT$21.7 billion ($713.6 million), bringing sales for the year so far to NT$61.8 billion ($2 billion), an 18.3% improvement from the first nine months of 2013. The company shipped nine million backlight units (BLUs) in September, and 112,000 DLP projectors, each increasing just 1% sequentially. Coretronic shipped 26.3 million BLUs in the third quarter and 69.5 million units in the January to September period, rising 19% quarter on quarter and 23% YoY, respectively. DLP projector shipments reached 324,000 units in the third quarter, up 11% sequentially and 880,000 units in the first nine months, growing 2% YoY.
