Conrac Protects Against Sunlight

Data Modul, owner of the Conrac brand, has released more information about its high-brightness, vandal-proof outdoor display, which we saw at Inter Airport Europe in October (Inter Airport Europe Event Disappoints for Displays).

Known as the 7955PD, the 55″ unit has optically-bonded front glass, which has been designed to enhance the transmission of visible light, with minimum reflection losses, as well as to protect the screen against IR and UV radiation. An intelligent integrated thermal management system is also built in. The product can be operated in temperatures from -30° to 50°, and in direct sunlight; it is IP65-compliant and is sealed against dust and water ingress.

Using a direct-LED backlight, the 7955PD reaches 2,500 cd/m² of brightness. Other specifications are still being finalised.

Data Modul will begin mass production of the new display at the start of Q3’16, with a 46″ unit being launched ‘just in time’ for Innotrans 2016 in September. Engineering samples are available now.

Data Modul’s factory in Weikersheim has its own bonding facility and the facility was a factor in the acquisition attempts by Arrow. (BR)
