The worldwide digital signage market will grow strongly over the next two years, says a new IDC study, although the study was based on US respondents. Increased availability of more flexible, interactive content is helping to drive digital signage forwards. Satisfaction is also rising, with 82% of surveyed companies now saying that they are ‘very satisfied’ with the technology.
About half of all companies are using digital signage today, with the highest take-up in banking and insurance, and among larger companies. Interest from current non-users remains ‘tepid’, but IDC expects penetration to continue to rise over the next two years.
Quality and cost are among the top-ranked features for signage products, as well as ease of use.
