Compal Electronics Inc. announced Q3 FY16 results with consolidated sales of NT$ 197.9 bn ($6.26 bn), up 14.4% as compared to the previous quarter sales of NT$ 172.9 bn ($5.3 bn). However, the quarterly sales have fallen by 8.3% from last year’s Q3 sales of NT$ 215.9 bn ($6.75 bn).
The quarterly sequential growth in sales was attributed partially to the notebooks segment on account of rising demand for Windows 10, while the non-notebook business also grew marginally due to entry into smart handheld devices, VR and server products. Toshiba’s phasing out of the consumer segment had a negative impact on the notebook segment sales.
