China’s First 75-Inch Color E-Paper Screen Entering Mass Production

China’s Chuanqi Optoelectronics Technology (Yangzhou), a subsidiary of E Ink, is preparing to begin mass production of its first 75-inch color e-paper display. Displys are set to roll off the production line at the copmpany’s facilities in Yangzhou High-End Display Industrial Park. The company lays claim to this announcement being a part of its strategic step toward positioning China as a major player in the next generation of display solutions.

According to company reports, 2025 is expected to be a landmark year for color e-paper, particularly in large formats. The 75-inch screen has already passed client sample verification and is slated for production in May, with full-scale output expected by the third quarter. Demand is already strong, with orders stretching into late September and projected Q1 sales topping 1.1 billion yuan ($151 million), an 18% YoY increase. The company’s 2024 sales were 4.5 billion yuan ($615 million), with a projected 20–30% growth in 2025.

This new 75-inch display isn’t just large, the color saturation has been increased by 30%. The screen also offers better text clarity compared to traditional displays. It is capable of functioning in temperatures ranging from -15°C to 65°C, expanding the usability of e-paper displays in harsh environments. The outdoor version includes solar panel compatibility making it ideal for remote or emergency information systems.
