Following the release of the new Apple TV, capable of outputting Ultra HD resolution and HDR, Nvidia has reacted by announcing a price drop for Nvidia Shield.
From October 18th, consumers will be able to pick up an Nvidia Shield for $179—the same price as the new Apple TV.
However, this new deal won’t include the game controller, so users won’t be able to enjoy the Shield’s powerful gaming capabilities, including Nvidia’s GeForce Now streaming service, unless they purchase a controller separately.
It should also be noted that Nvidia Shield only supports HDR10—the new Apple TV also supports Dolby Vision.
