Two companies in Brazil (Posterscope and NBS) have created a sign that they call the ‘Mosquito Killer Board’. It releases a mixture of a lactic acid solution and carbon dioxide, attracting mosquitoes from as far away as 2.5km. The insects are trapped inside and die. Posterscope and NBS believe that the product could help to combat the spread of the Zika virus.
