According to a report from ET News, BOE will commence trial production of micro LED panels for AR/VR applications in early 2019, at Kunming BOE Display Technology, a facility jointly owned with the government of Kunming, China.
ET says the company has purchased the necessary production equipment and will receive technology support from Kopin and Olighteck Optoelectronic. The report goes on to say that the line will output a million micro LED panels annually, in sizes ranging from 0.5″ to 0.8″.
