In our second BOE article today, we report that The Elec in Korea has published an article that claims that BOE has not got any orders for flexible OLEDs from Apple. The blog said that
“BOE’s B7 line at Chengdu, Sichuan province has failed Apple’s review for OLED supply, people familiar with the matter said.”
The review took just a month – from September, according to the article and
“The line’s OLED panels fell enormously short of being able to pass Apple’s standards”.
What We Think
Although the best of the Chinese makers have been putting huge effort and investment into trying to catch up with the Koreans, Samsung and LG have managed to keep well ahead of the competition. Samsung, in particular, continues to push the technology with higher refresh etc. (BR)
