Blu, a high-concept ‘wearable smartphone’ – which would literally curve around the wrist, and uses a 5.3″ flexible OLED display – was due to have its first products shipping in May. This seemed very ambitious for such a unique device, and Kickstarter, where the project was being funded, apparently agrees – funding was suspended last month. The company is now working on getting a new campaign started using product shots, rather than rendered images.

Philips had a similar concept device called Fluid, which was dreamed up by a Brazilian designer (Dinard de Mata) back in January. We haven’t heard anything else about the ‘phone’ since then, however. (TA)
