Barco digital cinema technology shined at 40th Hong Kong International Film Festival

Global digital cinema leader Barco is proud to announce the use of its DP2K-20C DLP projector at the 40th Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF). The projector was used for screenings at the Sha Tin Town Hall Auditorium from 1 to 4 April 2016.

With the DP2K-20C, digital cinema pioneer Barco continued to bring cutting-edge projector technology to one of Asia’s most celebrated arts and culture events.

This compact, fully-integrated digital projector ensured complete reliability by combining projector and media-server functionalities. Besides superb image processing and it provided easy maintenance and operation while keeping costs to a minimum.

Where exceptional films meet exceptional technology

Barco has a legacy of around the world for many years. This year’s HKIFF partnership came hot on the heels the recent (‘Berlinale’), where Barco’s Flagship Laser projector screened a selection of films at the Friedrichstadt-Palast, Europe’s largest show theatre.

Among the films that were shown on the DP2K-20C at HKIFF include, As I Open My Eyes(France/Tunisia), Macbeth, (Britain), The People vs. Fritz Bauer (Germany) and The Taste of Youth(Hong Kong) by award-winning director Cheung King-wai. The movie made its World Premiere at HKIFF.
