Barco has formed a joint venture with CEC Panda to address the Chinese control rooms market. The new company – Barco China Electronic Corporation (Nanjing) Visualization Co., Ltd – will give Barco direct access to the Chinese market. For its part, CEC Panda will be able to use Barco’s product portfolio and brand name.
Eric Van Zele, CEO of Barco, said, “We see a major potential for tiled LCD solutions in China, and CEC…is the perfect partner for us to achieve our goals. Together, we have exactly what it takes to be the #1 control room solutions supplier in China.”
Barco owns 65% of the new company, and CEC owns 35%.
