AU Optronics (AUO) reported sales in August of NT$35.5 billion ($1.2 billion), slightly down month on month and 5.5% lower than August 2014. Sales from January to August reached NT$267.1 billion ($8.9 billion), 3.5% lower than the same period of last year. Shipments of large panels reached 9.98 million units, 3.6% higher than July but slightly lower year on year and taking total shipments so far in 2014 to 77.6 million. AUO shipped 16.64 million small and medium size panels, only 0.7% higher than July and bringing the number of panels shipped to date to 112.9 million.
