AUO Sales Up Despite Declining Panel Prices

AU Optronics posted Q3 net profits of NT$8.2 billion ($273 million), a rise of 78% YoY from NT$4.6 billion ($153 million), on turnover which went up 1.6% to NT$87.4 billion ($2.9 billion) from NT$86.0 billion ($2.85 billion). For the nine months there were profits of NT$26.6 billion ($882 million), compared with losses of NT$1.8 billion ($59 million), on revenue which grew 10% to NT$260.4 billion ($8.6 billion) from NT$237.2 billion ($7.9 billion). The company said that panel shipments remained robust thanks to inventory restocking demand for the year-end holiday season.
