Asus’s July revenues reached NT$33.3 billion ($1 billion): down 21.3% MoM and 3.5% YoY. In the January-July period, Asus generated revenues of NT$255.9 billion ($8.2 billion), which was up 0.43% YoY.
July revenues were down due to the late shipment of Asus’s Zenfone 3 smartphone series, which did not begin until August. However, new products are expected to bolster revenue in August and September. Despite this, the company remains conservative about its performance in the second half of the year.
Smartphone shipments in 2016 are expected to reach 25 million units, from 20.5 million in 2015. Notebooks are expected to be flat, at 19.3 million.
