Asustek Computer announced its FY17 Q1 result with total revenues of NT$98.2 billion ($3.2 billion), net operating profit NT$3.8 billion ($124 million) and net profit NT$3.6 billion ($117 million). The net profit margin was 3.6% with net profit being at the lowest quarterly level since FY11 Q3.
Of the revenues, 62% came from DIY motherboards, notebooks and desktops; 20% from smartphones and tablets; 15% from components and 3% from IoT (Internet of Things) devices. Continuing the slow growth trend, Asustek expects FY17 Q2 revenue from DIY motherboards, notebooks and desktops to drop 5-10% on a quarterly basis, those from smartphones and tablets to slip 20-25% and those from components to dip 5-10% on a quarterly basis.
