Asus’ April revenues fell sharply, down 42.4% MoM and 12.7% YoY, to NT$26.1 billion ($799.3 million). Year-to-date revenues were up 3.1% YoY, at NT$136.1 billion ($4.2 billion).
The fall was blamed on delayed purchases, as the company is getting ready to launch new products. Revenue gains are forecast for May and June, when Asus expects to return to NT$30 billion – NT$40 billion ($918.8 million – $1.2 billion) monthly revenues.
Asus shipped 1 million tablets and 4 million smartphones in Q1, and aims to ship between 5 million and 6 million tablets throughout the year. Notebook shipments were 4.8 million units, with an annual goal of 20 million. 500,000 desktop PCs were shipped, with a forecast of 2 million to 4 million for 2016.
