Asus Amends Warranty Details in Response to New US Rules

Asus has provided a summary of notable updates to its warranty information for customers in the United States, following a clampdown on warranty policies deemed unfair by the US Federal Trade Commission. (Federal Trade Commission Clamps Down on Warranty Void Stickers)

Previously, Asus’ product warranties would by void if a device was tampered with in any way by unsanctioned repair providers. Now, warranty rules refer specifically to “damage caused” to products by the user or any third party. Any references to warranties being voided by the removal of warranty stickers or seals have been deleted altogether.
