Asahi Glass company reported net profit for Q3 2015 at JP¥ 8.8 billion ($72.8 million), up 47% YoY, but down 70% QoQ. Turnover was flat at JP¥ $331 billion, compared to JP¥ 335 billion ($2.8 billion) in the previous year. For the nine month period, net profit was up by 407% YoY at JP¥ 42.7 billion ($353 million), compared to JP¥8.4 billion ($69.5 million). For the same period, turnover was flat, down half-percent at JP¥ 989.6 billion . The Electronics segment, which is responsible for selling LCD substrates, was down 0.8% for the quarter and 8% for the nine month period, on account of lower sale prices of LCD screens, which outweighed the higher volume of shipments.
