Apple’s Tablet Pushes OLED Panel Shipments to New Highs

The strong consumer demand for these advanced tablets, equipped with cutting-edge tandem OLED stack panels, has driven overall shipment volumes to a record 4.1 million units. Apple’s thinner, more efficient tablets has not only solidified its market leadership but also spurred significant production increases from key panel suppliers like LG Display and Samsung Display, each capturing 41% of the market.

As Apple continues to lead the OLED tablet market, other manufacturers are also making strategic moves to capture a share of this growing segment. Huawei, holding a 13% share in Q2 2024, has launched its own tandem stack OLED tablet, while Samsung is ramping up production for its upcoming Galaxy Tab S10 Plus and S10 Ultra models, expected to launch in Q4 2024. With new entrants like Honor and Microsoft entering the market and established players like Lenovo increasing their volumes, the competition may help to raise OLED panel shipments to even newer highs. Despite a projected 9% sequential decline in shipments for Q3 2024, overall growth is expected to surge 153% YoY.
