Apple TV App Finally Leaving the US

Following the announcement of the new UHD-capable Apple TV and the launch of tvOS 11, the company has also unveiled plans to release its previously US-exclusive TV app in other territories, starting later this month in Australia and Canada.

The TV app streamlines content delivery, combining movies and TV shows from several different providers all in one handy user interface that syncs across all Apple devices, including the Apple TV, iPhone and iPad.

Several services are on board with the TV app, including HBO, Hulu, Showtime, CBS and Amazon Prime Video. Netflix, on the other hand, is keeping its content within its own app for now.

iTunes purchases are also watchable through the app, as well as live sports and news. The app is compatible with Siri and features a notification system for live sports to ensure consumers never miss a match.

Apple’s TV app will be available in Australia and Canada later this month, with France, Germany, Sweden, Norway and the UK to follow by the end of 2017.
