Apple TV Zombie Rises Again

Apple is (apparently) writing the next chapter in the story of its long-rumoured TV service (Display Monitor Vol 19 No 10). Having failed to secure content deals with TV providers, the company is now dealing direct with programme creators, according to Re/code. Rather than offering a full TV channel line-up, Apple will put together programming bundles, it is said, with its own UI.

Analyst comments

The rumour makes Apple’s offering sounds very similar to Sony’s Playstation Vue service. It seems that the same rumour – about Apple’s talks with content providers going south – appears every year. (TA)
