Apple Hits More TV Service Delays

Apple has long been rumoured to be developing an IPTV service, with the last update – a delay to 2016 – coming in August (Apple TV Service Hits Delay). Now both Bloomberg and CBS‘s CEO say that the company has ‘suspended’ its plans. Instead, it will focus on acting as a platform for other companies to sell content through apps. Once again, the difficulty of getting content providers to sign up to the service – which would offer a ‘pick-and-choose’ approach, rather than requiring users to subscribe to large packages – was cited as the reason for the move.
