Apple Hikes iPhone Warranty and Repair Costs

Apple has announced plans to increase the pricing of its AppleCare+ warranty for new and recent iPhone models.

Warranties for the iPhone 6S Plus, 7 Plus and 8 Plus have increased from $129 to $149, while protection for the new iPhone X will cost $199, due to its premium OLED screen.

Screen repairs performed outside of warranty for the iPhone 6 and SE have risen from $99 to $129, while costs to repair the iPhone 6s and 7 have gone up from $129 to $149, with their Plus counterparts now costing $169.

Other repairs such as water damage will set users back $319 for the iPhone 7 and $349 for the 7 Plus, while fixing the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus will cost $349 and $399 respectively.

Apple has not yet stated what out-of-warranty repairs for the iPhone X will cost.
