ANQ Develops Digital Signage Platform with Facial Recognition Tech

UK-based digital retail communications firm ANQ has used facial recognition technology from Omron Electronic Components Europe to create a digital signage platform that allows clients to deliver tailor-made content to their customers based on gender, age and mood, among other things. The platform also incorporates ANQ’s newly-developed customer analytics module, created using the same facial recognition technology, Human Vision Component (HVC).

HVC is based on Omron’s OKAO Vision software, which encompasses a camera, an external interface and ten image sensing functions. ANQ’s platform will use the technology to detect gender and estimate age, mood, facial expression and gaze. HVC-P2 can recognise a face from up to 3m away, a hand from up to 6m and a body from up to 17m.
